Every year, we host our Live Showcases to celebrate student creativity, impact, and collaboration across two flagship categories. Start Talking is a storytelling and public speaking competition where students deliver a four minute video pitch that tackles real world social and sustainability challenges. With mentoring and skills workshops, participants learn to translate complex STEM ideas for industry, policymakers, and the public, building clarity, confidence, digital fluency, and professional identity. Design for Change brings interdisciplinary teams together to present four minute prototype pitches that address pressing
industry and community needs with sustainable and economic impact, demonstrating design thinking, evidence informed decision making, and practical feasibility. Each showcase features live feedback from academics and industry guests, opportunities for networking and collaboration, and recognition for standout projects. Together, these events highlight the role of students as future ready problem solvers.
